We left the city last Saturday, a cold and dreary morning. As we pulled away, down into the midtown tunnel, nothing but misty grey could be seen in the rear view mirror. I had imagined giving a last loving gaze at one of my favorite buildings, the Chrysler, as I said goodbye, but she was cloaked in fog, and my last look was instead of some corner bodegas and shady sex shops. Sir Milks-A-Lot

It's time for some real sharing here. Although it's a little embarassing, I have to admit, this has been going on for months. It all started a few hours into my first online goat browsing/shopping experience. We're looking for goats with great dairy genetics and part of the process is educating myself on what a great dairy animal actually looks like. I started looking at show goats to get an idea of proper conformation. Most of these star goats are shown posed like the lovely ladies above and after staring at image after image of full on udder-in-the-face, I started to feel a little...well...pervy. Yes, pervy. Not exactly something you expect to feel as a girl looking at goats! Monkey Balls! It's almost Valentine's Day!


One of the many Hedgeapples (aka Monkey Balls) found on the farm last month.

It's that time of the year again! The time of year you start banging your head against the wall trying to think of a Valentine's Day gift or gesture that isn't cliche, boring, or scripted. A few months ago Scrapple commented on how tough it will be to think of gifts to give each other when we're on the farm. I told him he could just pick me a bouquet of wild flowers, but then remembered that V day is in February. Maybe a hedge apple bouquet? 

Here in the city, there have been a few years where I've had an inspiring idea a few months in advance (mainly of the concert ticket or interesting experience variety), but, admittedly, many of Scrapple's V day gifts have been of the "light bulb in the head a few days before" variety. I'm also big into homemade cards :)
